We built this deck with a bonus feature, a pergola! Pergolas block the sun and the elements but maintain air flow, this makes for a perfect shady spot to sit and eat or just hang out with your favorite people. We also added lattice to the bottom of the deck to ensure that unwanted critters are kept out.
